I was born and live in Gibraltar and have exhibited my paintings and installations in Gibraltar, Spain and Uk.
My main interest lies in the exploration of the human condition and childhood, and it is this which I translate in my paintings and installations.
I started telling my stories by using sculpted characters and creating for them small-scale scenarios inside glass-fronted wooden boxes. In my latest work, these characters have become almost life size and now create a conceptual interaction with real-life scenarios
I incorporate toys, dolls and ornaments into my work and these objects play a very important part of my expressive language.
I explore emotions I listen to what these objects tell me. I then translate their stories and embed them into my work thus forming another narrative.
In my installations I normally sculpt the heads and bodies in the human form and then use clothes and fabrics which have had a former life to dress them. I feel that these bring with them too their own stories, their memories and their own language to form a new narrative to the backdrop which I have created for them.
